I'm an art teacher, illustrator and graphic artist based in The Netherlands. After I finished my art teacher degree, I wanted to learn more about (book)illustrating, bookbinding and the digital working proces. I'm really happy I made this decision. I'm also specialized in graphic techniques like tetra print and etching.
Most of my inspiration, I find in the every day life. Small things are worth to be seen; the ordinary will become special if you take the time to look properly. I love cityscapes and interieurs. They have so many stories to tell, even without the human life in it.
I love working with my hands and real materials. The world is getting more digital every day and I try to slow it down a bit. The graphic techniques are one of my favorite, because of the traditional proces and the surprising outcome. You will never know exactly how it looks in the end and that makes it an inspiring proces.
It is impossible to ignore the digital improvements en sometimes I try to combine these with my handmade work. But I always make sure that my digitally adjusted work still looks authentic and handmade.
